New Blog Location
So, there are things about tumblr I love and things I don’t. It was a very easy way to start blogging and I really like that my “followers’” new posts show up on my dashboard. However, tumblr doesn’t allow comments. This really bugs me. Alot. So, I’ve started a new blogger blog. Same Yoko, new address! Please come visit, change your bookmarks and leave me...
Did you really need the 17th kid? →
I’m not sure what I find more disgusting, that you would willingly bring 17 children into a world where there are millions of already unwanted babies or that you are so insistent that every last one of your drains on society have a name that starts with the letter J, that you name one of them Jinger. Excuse me while I go take my birth control pill.
Pennywise
Ummm, I just realized that Tim Curry played “Pennywise” in the movie version of IT. Dur. I was going to post a picture to go with this revelation but so many people are scared of clowns (thanks Stephen King) that I’ll spare you the graphic. Instead, here is a link to the “Top Ten Scariest Things to Ruin a Childhood”. I was actually spared most of these frights by...

My Love Shack has a leaky roof.
Saw the B-52’s last night at the Pavilion with Cory and my bff Cedie. Good show but it started pouring down rain 10 minutes before we were planning to leave the house. We didn’t let the weather stop us, especially since Cedie was REALLY excited to go. She is generally a pop culture wasteland so I was thrilled to have discovered a band that a) she had heard of (besides Ani and Cake)...
Bowie, bozo, buddy...
I’m not sure who this morning was more traumatic for, me or Bowie. Poor guy had to go in for his annual (*cough* we actually only take him every two years…shit’s expensive) checkup. Not only did he have to have blood drawn, he also got three shots and a nice lady stuck a tube up his butt to get a stool sample. All that combined with the smells of hundreds of other dogs and cats (“there are...

We’re heading down to Topsail Island this weekend with my parents, my sister and her husband. I’m so looking forward to a vacation that doesn’t involve a tent I can hardly stand it. Today is positively dragging by. I’m sure I’ll be able to leave work early (I’m lucky like that) but I need to hold out until a reasonable hour and 4 o’clock seems like...
Sorry, no new posts.
My back is still killing me and sitting at the computer for more then a minute or two is painful. Regular posts will ressume as soon as one of my doctors figures out how to fix me. Until then, I’ll be laying down—catching up on my day time TV.
this is for you, yoko

Home safely.
Well, we have survived our third (non-sequential) Bonnaroo. No stitches, no major sunburns. Saw an amazing amount of music and generally had a fantastic time. I finally got to see Franz Ferdinand and was not disappointed. We got home on Monday afternoon and I’m still feeling wiped out. The pain in my lower back is waning a little, which is a relief, maybe tomorrow I will be able to bend...
Bonnarooooooooooooooo!
Tomorrow, in the dead of night, we’ll be loading up the car and caravanning with the fabulous Divide girls down to Tennessee for Bonnaroo. This will be Cory and me’s third Bonnaroo, we went the 1st and 3rd years, and this maybe the last chance it gets. Festivals are old hat for us, we did as much touring with Phish as we could when they were still around including trips to the NYE 1999 festival...
Having learned our lesson the first year, we came to our second Bonnaroo prepared for relentless sunshine. Instead of the previous year’s tarp on poles we broke down a bought a real (expensive) shade tent, or red neck back porch, as I like to call it. Alas, tent or no tent, heat stroke was not in the cards for this trip. Thunderstorms abounded, tents had to be restaked lest they blow away and...
